The “Galilean Human Mosaic” foundation was established in 2022, with the goal of creating social-cultural encounters that build resilience and deeper acquaintances between community members, residents of the Galilee, through cultural and sports events, thereby promoting an inclusive dialogue, familiarity with others ethnicities, and empowering the “self” of each community member. Community members include children, youth, young adults, and adults from across the spectrum of cultures in the Galilee – Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze. ‘Galilee Human Mosaic’ operates several programs including integrated running groups, local and inter-community sports events in the spirit of inclusivity, and diverse cultural-community events. Among the community members are people with special needs from across the age and cultural spectrum, who take a full and active part in community life through this program.
With the outbreak of the ‘Iron Swords’ war, many events and planned races were suspended. In accordance with the spirit of the foundation and its community members, activities were diverted to extensive volunteer work programs including distribution of equipment to reserve soldiers and emergency response teams, supporting evacuee communities, and other meaningful activities to raise awareness about the Israeli hostages in Gaza.
