Coming Home – Western Galilee

The ‘Coming Home – Western Galilee’ initiative was founded by Ruach HaGalil, an association established by philanthropist Raya Strauss. The program’s goal is to empower young entrepreneurs from the evacuated border communities (as a result of the ‘Iron Sworsd’ war) in the Western and Eastern Galilee, to envision, plan, and prepare for “the day after”—when they will return and rebuild their communities, more than a year after their evacuation.

The program is divided into two phases:

Phase One brings together approximately 100 young men and women from the border communities of the Ma’ale Yosef and Merom HaGalil Regional Councils for a series of educational seminars and training activities. These sessions are designed to inspire, and guide participants in developing community-centered projects that will serve as focal points for renewal and resilience upon their return.

Phase Two will establish a steering committee responsible for selecting the most promising initiatives and supporting the entrepreneurs in realizing their vision and selected projects, for the benefit of their communities.

The initiative is being developed and supported by the Galila Foundation in partnership with the ‘Ruach HaGalil’ professional team.
