Supporting Ukrainian Immigrants (Olim)

With the outbreak of war in Ukraine, we contemplated how we could best assist the families who have fled from the terrifying war in their homeland.

Our entire country became actively engaged in supporting the Ukrainian refugees through various initiatives, such as: transporting the refugees to Israel, assistance in the process of becoming citizens, initial housing in absorption centers for new immigrants, Hebrew language studies, apartments rentals, finding employment, etc.

After careful consideration, we decided that Galila’s  main contribution to the Olim will be providing each family with new electronic  tablets/laptop computers – as this is one item that has a crucial impact on their quality of life.

Our supporting benefactors quickly joined us in our mission and within a few weeks, we distributed dozens of tablets and laptops to Ukrainian immigrant families once they arrived up north.

In addition, we purchased new equipment for an “Ulpan” (immigrant language-learning center) in Kibbutz Yehiam, located in the Western Galilee, making sure the children will have plenty of games and toys to play with during the summer months. We also assisted needy families with purchasing home appliances, and we funded a variety of enrichment activities.

We welcome the new Olim with open arms, we pray that the war will end shortly and that their absorption in Israel will be smooth and successful.

A special thank you to our dear benefactors, you are all living proof that (as stated in our Bible) indeed “All of Israel are responsible for one another…”
