Inspired by the success of the Galil EAST Community Leadership Program, we have developed the Galil WEST Leadership Program in collaboration with the ‘Western Galilee Cluster’ an umbrella group of all the urban and municipal councils in the region. The initiative is led by social entrepreneur Ms. Michal Reikin and directed by Dr. Iris Poskalinski, a veteran specialist in community development.
The program aims to establish a regional network of change-makers who act through collaboration and shared responsibility to address the challenges facing the Western Galilee. It is designed for senior leaders living and working in the region—from the business sector, civil society, local government, academia, and beyond. The Galil WEST Leadership Program trains participants to develop a regional perspective and practice, built on trust and cooperation, to leverage the area’s assets and enhance quality of life.
The year-long program includes full training days across the Western Galilee, three two-day residential seminars outside the region, and approximately one week of international educational travel. The program will begin in September 2025 and conclude in September 2026. Upon completion, fellows are expected to continue their involvement through an active and growing alumni network. The training focuses on acquiring relevant knowledge, personal development, and a group process that reflects the diversity of the region.
This program is led by the Galila Foundation, in partnership with the Western Galilee Cluster and supported by The Day After Fund, the Jewish Federations of North America, the Roudberg Foundation, the Weinberg Foundation, and the ‘Ruach HaGalil’ Association.
